Prophet 12 - FM Synthesis - Fable Machines Preset Bank

Fellow P12 lovers!,

Since its release, the Prophet 12 has been a tough beast to tame. Its engine runs deep, demanding smart and complex programming to bring out its unique sound. But oh boy, does it sound great! I love this synth so much that I’ve dedicated myself to creating preset banks that show off what it can do.

My first bank, P12 Anniversary, focused on its unique sound shaping, filtering, feedback, and the simple yet deep delay section. This time, I wanted to dive into its FM side. I taught myself the ins and outs of frequency modulation by studying both vintage and modern FM synths like the DX7 and Korg OPSIX. Coming back to the P12 afterward, I rediscovered what makes this synth so special—the result really is greater than the sum of its parts! What other synth combines Linear FM with SEM filters, such a deep Mod Matrix, a character section, feedback... and more? None, as far as I’m concerned. :)

Even after more than 10 years, the Prophet 12 holds its ground.
